Don’t miss a chance to enjoy this fun evening while providing silver linings to those in need of a potential life-saving mammogram.

About A Silver Lining FoundationSince the Buy A Mom A Mammogram program's inception in 2006, ASLF has provided more than 2,500 women with information about and access to no cost screening mammograms. In response to the growing number of women needing follow up due to a possible abnormality, the foundation began funding diagnostic testing in 2007. Since its launch in 2002 by Dr. Sandy Goldberg, ASLF has provided more than 450,000 people with information about cancer resources, treatment options and support services.

The philosophy of the foundation is based on two phrases Dr. Goldberg's late mother used to live by: “No matter what your situation, you have to see the silver lining,” and “We are all family, and we have to help each other through the tough times.” With 59 million Americans currently living without health insurance, the Buy A Mom A Mammogram program provides a silver lining to those in need.

ASLF’s administrative offices are located at 134 N. LaSalle, Ste. 1218, Chicago, 60602. The organization runs three cancer related programs: Buy A Mom A Mammogram, the Chicagoland Cancer Information Coalition (CCIC) and The Evelyn Goldberg Center at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago. Launched in 2002 by Dr. Sandy Goldberg, a breast cancer survivor and NBC Chicago health and nutrition expert, ASLF provides cancer related resource information including treatment options and support services to uninsured and underinsured individuals. Dr. Sandy Visits "Adelante"

In case you missed it, our own Dr. Sandy Goldberg, accompanied by good friend Dr. Virginia Bishop, stopped by WGN's Adelante recently to discuss something near and dear to her heart: A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF). More specifically, the ladies discussed ASLF's important mission and the recent health fair the organization co-hosted (along with Banco Popular) at Roberto Clemente High School in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The health fair pre-qualified women for no-cost screening mammograms, and provided families with no cost health screenings, educational information and outreach services, breakout sessions, and a “day spa” featuring complimentary manicures, chair massages, haircuts and skin care demonstrations.

It was truly a successful day--more than 400 people attended the health fair! ASLF proudly qualified more than 60 people for no cost screening mammograms.
